SmartSVN 6.5 beta

The first beta version of SmartSVN 6.5 is available

We are proud to announce the first beta version of SmartSVN 6.5. SmartSVN 6.5 is compatible with SVN 1.6 and contains more than 70 new features and improvements. The most important changes are:

  • Significant Log Cache performance improvements
  • Revision Graph improvements: Displaying merge info, searching/filtering revisions and branches
  • Improved handling of multiple working copy roots
  • Applying patches
  • Advanced UI customization
  • Shell Integration improvements
  • Simplified handling of settings defaults

According to our information, there is technically no way to add this functionality because Apple removed the API.

DropBox is managing it somehow, but maybe they did a super-hack of some kind.

Hmmm... It might have been courteous to mention that you can't run SmartSVN 6 and 6.5 simultaneously (at least on OS X you can't). I had thought that keeping v6 around in case of bugs would reduce the risk of running 6.5beta, but launching v6 actually launches the 6.5beta client.

Be sure to quit SmartSVN 6.5 beta before launching SmartSVN 6. Both versions can't run at the same time.

I could not figure out where to file a bug for beta - but when I select a folder in the tree to "refresh", it seems to refresh my entire tree which will take forever. I am not seeing any improvements in "refresh" speed or cache speed improvements.

Please check "Manual Refresh" Settings in the Preferences (Actions, Refresh). Performance improvements are related to the Log Cache (Log, Revision Graph, Tag Browser). Bug reports should be sent to smartsvn@syntevo.com.
